【DEATH NOTE】 TOP 10 most competent characters

Who do you think is the most competent characters in DEATH NOTE?

I wrote down characters I personally think are competent (not means having a clear head) as ranking.

1 Stephen Gevanni

Height：182cm
Weight：61kg

The real name is Stephen Loud. He is the character appearing since the latter part of the story and is a member of SPK pursuing Kira. His activity of the last part was especially phenomenal and he graduated from human when he copied the notebook itself perfectly. He doesn’t have a clearer head than Near does but Near side couldn’t win without his dexterity.

2 Tota Matsuda

Height：174cm
Weight：59kg

A member of the Japanese Kira task force. Although he was usually the troublemaker, sometimes it caused the situation of the investigation to advance. He was not competent but his shooting technique was phenomenal. Near could be defeated without Matsuda in the YB warehouse. I personally support his reasoning showing after Kira case settled.

Weight：50kg・・・

The real name is L Lawliet. He is the opponent to Light appearing in the former part of the story and is the best detective in the world. Although he didn’t even show his face to others, he did in the Kira case for the first time and tried to capture Kira. He cornered Light with not only his good reasoning but also his action unexpectable to Light. We can see many abnormal actions of his but we must not imitate him.

「Even if I don’t have the license (of the helicopter), I understand how to make it function by intuition.」・・・・・・.

4 Light Yagami

Height：179cm
Weight：54kg

The main character. He picked up DEATH NOTE by which someone whose face is recognized and name is written in the notebook dies. He tried to create the new world where only peaceful people live without any crimes by deleting evils in the world. He is the superman scoring the highest result of the exam to enter the university. He is lack of the tolerance to being mocked but it’s amazing that he went through a lot of pinches with his good head and his dexterity.

「The reson why I burned (the house) is that I didn’t want anyone to see my real diary, which is the best human reason and I’m sure it’ll make sense.」・・・・・・.

5 Mello

Height：171cm
Weight：52kg

The real name is Mihael Keehl. L’s successor No.2 appearing since the latter part of the story. His action skill was top level in the story and he was dangerous person to do everything like making use of the mafia in order to capture Kira. His activity to steal the notebook from the Japanese Kira task force with the thorough preparation was awesome. He came from the Wammy’s house where L’s successors were brought up and his score was always behind near, that’s why he bared the feelings of rivalry to Near.

「In other words, I can control the person being able to push the atomic weapon’s button before killing the person as well (by DEATH NOTE).」・・・・・・.

6 Rem

The shinigami appearing in the former part of the story. She was the shinigami to hand over the notebook to Misa and she was single-minded person who always tried to protect Misa. She hated Light but thanks to her action it sometimes ended in saving Light. Unlike Ryuk he was brilliant in some vital moments.

(Suddenly appearing in front of Misa whose memory was lost)
「Misa. You are in the dangerous situation where you can be killed by Yotsuba soon now. I came here to tell it. Listen calmly.」・・・・・・.

7 Watari

1933.5.1
Height：175cm
Weight：51kg

The real name is Quillsh Wammy. The old person of L’s attendant. He was the only person to be able to make contact with L until L was united with the Japanese police. The backup of L was his main role for example L’s meal (don’t imitate it), setting bugs and camera monitors and even using the rifle. He is just L’s right-hand man.

(While Higuchi was captured)
L：「Watari. If Higuchi makes some actions even a little bit, you know what you must do, don’t you?」
Watari (holding the rifle at the ready) ：「Yes. I stop his actions to shoot him to the extent that he doesn’t get dead.」・・・・・・.

8 Wedy

The real name is Merrie Kenwood. She was the cooperators with the Japanese Kira task force appearing in the former part of the story. She is the theft who can break through the any safes and securities protected thoroughly. Her activity was good on the way to capturing Higuchi by setting monitor devices and invading houses of the Kira candidates of Yotsuba etc.

「And here you are. Aiber hates a gun. I only have it, so have it Mr. Yagami as well.」・・・・・・.

9 Kanzo Mogi

Height：188cm
Weight：81kg

A member of the Japanese Kira task force. He is calm and strong unsung man. His working speed was especially outstanding (not as much as Gevanni) like following university student Light, making the list of more than 300 thousands of Yotsuba employees (about for 2 days), researching doctors and back-alley doctors all over the world as much as possible (about for a week) and Misa’s meal preparation etc. He doesn’t have a clearer head than Light does but his activity was good, so he is in the list.

10 Near

Height：155cm
Weight：40kg

The real name is Nate River. He is the top of SPK appearing since the latter part of the story. He came from the Wammy’s house where L’s successors were brought up and he always scored the highest result over Mello. His investigation watching many videos at the same time was good when he specified Mikami.
